In his previous release, the solo song cycle I Been Around, S.Fairbank crafted compelling music around the story of a character’s ascent, decline and retribution. With the experience of writing around a central concept using a hybrid of classical and electronic instrumentation, he took the idea to the next level with Candyce.
The story of Candyce revolves around a charismatic free spirit who glides through life on the support of a large network of admirers, some of whom are affluent romantic partners. One night at a bar she encounters two men who compete for her attention, and from there events unfold creating life-altering consequences – some tragic, some euphoric – for all characters.
This deluxe 2-CD edition contains a 40-page booklet with lyrics/libretto, synopsis, cast photos and all credits.
